a significant breakthrough, the Special Staff of South District Police arrested four active members of the notorious “Prince Teotia Gang,” averting a potential gang war in South Delhi. The arrested accused—Rakesh alias Raka, Hunny Rawat alias Badi, Rishu Prasad alias Monu, and Dilshad alias Golu—were found in possession of four firearms, eight live cartridges, and a car.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team laid a trap near Madangir on the intervening night of April 3 and 4. The suspects were intercepted on BRT Road and overpowered before they could react. Police say all four are hardened criminals with multiple cases of murder, robbery, and arms violations registered against them across Delhi and neighbouring states.
According to the police, prime accused Rakesh aka Raka had recently been released from judicial custody and was plotting revenge against a rival gang.
“We received credible inputs about the movement of armed criminals and our team responded swiftly to neutralize a potential threat. The arrests have prevented a possible outbreak of gang violence,” said DCP (South) Ankit Chauhan.
A case under the Arms Act has been registered at PS Ambedkar Nagar, and further investigation is underway.
