Three interstate criminals caught after exchange of fire
Delhi, March 20: In a major breakthrough, the Anti-Auto Theft Squad (AATS) of Rohini District arrested three interstate criminals following a brief exchange of fire. The accused were identified as Govind alias Kohli, Krishna alias Kinha, and Daud alias Sameer, all of whom have extensive criminal track records.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team led by Inspector Amit Dahiya and supervised by ACP Ishwar Singh laid a trap on Helipad Pansali Road, Begampur. The suspects were spotted in a stolen black Creta car and, when asked to surrender, they opened fire on the police. In retaliation, officers fired back, injuring two of the accused in the leg. The injured were taken to BSA hospital for treatment.
During the operation, police recovered two semi-automatic pistols and the stolen vehicle.
Govind aka Kohli, a resident of Sultanpuri, has a record of over 70 criminal cases, including murder, robbery, and burglary. He was wanted for two cases. Krishna aka Kinha has been involved in over 23 cases, while Daud alias Sameer has a history of over 10 criminal incidents.
Speaking about the arrests, Additional DCP Vishnu Kumar stated, "The apprehension of these criminals is a significant achievement for the Rohini District police. Their arrest will help curb organized criminal activities in Delhi and nearby states."
