A major gambling racket being operated from a house in Kotla Mubarakpur’s Aliganj area was busted by the Special Staff of South District Police in a late-night raid, officials said on Friday.

Twelve people were apprehended during the operation, and stake money worth ₹15,040 along with 17 packets of playing cards were recovered from the spot. Police identified two of the accused, Ansar Ali and Ashik Tigga, as the main operators of the racket.

The raid followed intelligence inputs developed by constable Ashok Kumar, which were further refined through technical analysis. A dedicated team led by Inspector Girish Chandra, under the supervision of ACP Operations Abhinendra Jain, carried out the successful operation.

According to DCP (South) Ankit Chauhan, “Our team acted swiftly on credible input and successfully cracked down on the illegal gambling activity. We remain committed to curbing organized crimes in the district.”

A case under the Delhi Public Gambling Act has been registered at PS Kotla Mubarakpur, and further investigation is underway.
