Concluding the Delhi Police Raising Day celebrations, a grand Walk-A-Thon was organized at India Gate today to promote a drug-free and healthy Delhi. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from citizens, police personnel, and dignitaries, including Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena, Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora, and sports personalities; Olympic medalist Ravi Dahiya and Arjuna Awardee Sarita Mor.

The four-kilometer Walk-A-Thon, flagged off at 6:30 in the morning, started from India Gate and concluded at Kartavya Path Police Station. Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora and other officials led the walk, emphasizing the force’s commitment to eradicating drug abuse.

Delhi Police’s Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) has been actively cracking down on drug trafficking through Operation Kavach and other initiatives. The force has also launched awareness campaigns across schools, colleges, and neighborhoods to educate the youth about the dangers of drug abuse.

Speaking at the event, DCP (ANTF) Apoorva Gupta said, “This Walk-A-Thon is not just a symbolic event but a step towards a healthier and drug-free Delhi. Our goal is to make the city drug-free by 2027, and such initiatives help spread awareness and encourage community participation.”

The Delhi Police also unveiled a booklet titled ‘Pilot Project - Drug-Free Delhi 2027’, documenting the efforts taken so far. The initiative aligns with Delhi’s vision of becoming a drug-free city by 2027, as guided by Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena.
