OPERATION MILAP
Two missing minor girls rescued and reunited with families
The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of South West District successfully traced and reunited two missing minor girls, aged 13 and 17, with their families under Operation Milap.
The first case involved a 17-year-old girl who went missing from Jaitpur, New Delhi, on March 15. A case was registered under Section 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and the police launched an extensive search. Similarly, on March 17, another 13-year-old girl was reported missing, prompting another case registration and investigation.
A team led by Inspector Balbir Singh, with W/SI Shilpy, ASI Sheeshpal, and W/HC Sangeeta, worked tirelessly, using technical surveillance, social media tracking, and CCTV footage analysis to locate the missing girls.
One of the girls was found at New Delhi Railway Station, while the second girl was traced to Agra, Uttar Pradesh, after traveling through multiple cities with a 23-year-old man named Raju. The suspect was apprehended, and further legal action is underway.
Praising the team's efforts, Additional DCP Akanksha Yadav said, "Our officers displayed immense dedication to ensuring the safe return of these minors. Their perseverance highlights our unwavering commitment to child safety under Operation Milap."
The rescued girls were reunited with their families after completing legal formalities.
