Thak-Thak gang member caught
In a major breakthrough, the East District police have arrested a member of the notorious Thak-Thak gang and recovered stolen valuables worth ₹3.15 lakh, including an Apple iPad, a VIVO V40 Pro mobile, two high-end cameras, a Fossil wristwatch, and an N-Torq scooty used in the crime.
According to police, the incident occurred on March 20 when complainant Vivek Ahuja was tricked by two individuals who claimed fuel was leaking from his car. While he checked his vehicle, the accused stole his office bag containing valuable gadgets. CCTV footage led the police to identify the suspects, and on March 23, Raunak alias Ronak (23), a resident of Madangir, Ambedkar Nagar, was apprehended near Maharajpur Toll, Anand Vihar.
DCP Abhishek Dhaniya stated, “This arrest is a significant step in tackling street crimes in the city. The accused has a history of criminal activities and was planning another theft when caught. Efforts are underway to trace his accomplice.”
Police have recovered all stolen items and are continuing their investigation to apprehend the second accused.
