Snatcher associated with notorious gang caught

The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has arrested Arshad, 31 years, a wanted snatcher associated with the notorious Faeem alias Chikna gang. He was on the run after a recent snatching incident in the Welcome area of Delhi.
Recently, on March 28, 2025, complainant Sunil Sagar was walking after exiting the Maujpur-Babarpur Metro station when two men on a scooty snatched his mobile phone. In the rush to flee, their vehicle fell, and one accused, Asif, was caught on the scene. However, Arshad managed to escape and had been absconding since then.
Following a tip-off, a team led by ASI Upendra with Head constables Prince, Rajeev, and Vikas, was formed under the supervision of Inspector Ashish Dahima and the guidance of ACP Yashpal Singh. The team successfully tracked down and arrested Arshad from Shera Wala Bagh, Kabir Nagar. Further investigations revealed that he was also wanted in an earlier case (FIR No. 108/2020, PS Welcome) and had proceedings initiated against him under Section 82 Cr.P.C.
Arshad has a history of criminal activities and has been previously involved in two other cases.
Speaking on the arrest, DCP Vikram Singh stated, “This arrest is a significant step in curbing street crimes in the city. We remain committed to ensuring the safety of citizens by taking strict action against habitual offenders.”
The accused is currently in police custody as further investigations continue.
