The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of Shahdara has busted an interstate drug racket, arresting two women involved in smuggling ganja from Bihar to Delhi. The operation was conducted on March 1 following a tip-off about illegal transportation of the contraband to Geeta Colony.
A police team, led by Inspector Ajay Kumar Singh and operating under the supervision of ACP Gurdev Singh and DCP Shahdara, laid a trap at the designated location. Around 4:30 in the morning two women carrying bags were intercepted. Upon searching, authorities recovered 6.246 kg of ganja from a trolley bag held by Pooja (32) and 4.150 kg from a bag carried by Sanju Devi (50), both residents of Geeta Colony.
A case under the NDPS Act was registered at Geeta Colony police station, and both accused were taken into custody. During interrogation, they revealed that they sourced the ganja from a supplier named Suraj in Supaul, Bihar, and distributed it in Delhi’s Geeta Colony area. Police are now investigating further to track down others involved in the racket.
DCP Shahdara, Prashant Gautam, said, “This operation is a significant step in curbing drug peddling in the city. We are committed to dismantling such networks and will continue taking strict action against those involved in the illegal drug trade.”
