Sharpshooter of Bhau gang arrested
Gang war plot foiled
The cops successfully apprehended a sharpshooter from the Naveen Bali-Himanshu Bhau crime syndicate, preventing a planned killing linked to ongoing gang rivalries.
The accused, identified as Deepak alias Rohit Mundlana, a 19-year-old resident of Sonipat, Haryana, was arrested near Japanese Park in Rohini on March 4. Police recovered two firearms and four live cartridges from his possession.
According to police officials, Deepak had been tasked with eliminating a member of the rival Gogi gang to avenge the murder of gangster Tillu Tajpuriya.
“In our continued efforts to curb gang violence in Delhi-NCR, our team tracked the movements of criminal syndicates and successfully intercepted the suspect before the planned attack,” said DCP Amit Kaushik, Northern Range, Special Cell.
Investigations revealed that Deepak, an eighth-grade dropout, was drawn into the criminal world in 2023 after being influenced by the lifestyle of gangsters. He had been closely following the activities of the Naveen Bali-Himanshu Bhau syndicate on social media before joining the group.
Further probe is in progress.
