Monumental work on temples by Rajeev Aggarwal

Union Minister for Tourism and Culture, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, unveiled a book titled Temples Tour, which documented over 5,500 temples. The book, authored by social worker Rajeev Agarwal and launched at a ceremony held at the Shri Sathya Sai Auditorium at Lodhi Road area. The distinguished guests on the occasion included former Union Ministers Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, and Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma. Other notable attendees were MP Krishna Patel, several other MPs, and former MP Vivek Narayan Shejwalkar.

Shekhawat mentioned India’s rich heritage of temples and congratulated the author on his efforts. He described the four-volume book as an inspiring resource for readers and beneficial for tourists. Naqvi also extended his congratulations and praised the author’s work. Harsh Vardhan encouraged Rajeev Agarwal to write about temples worldwide in the future.

The book provided descriptions of over 5,500 temples selected from nearly 10,000, covering 28 states and eight Union Territories of India. The book was published by Rajkamal Publications, the book featured photographs of 3,700 temples. Rajeev shared that he began writing the book during the COVID-19 lockdown in April 2020 and it took him more than two years to complete.
