Hackathon launched to tackle digital threats

The Cyber Challenge-Delhi Police Hackathon 2024 was launched, focusing on how to  tackle new digital threats across the country, added with the inauguration done  by Vivek Gogia, Special Commissioner for Operations and Technology & Project Implementation Division, working with the Cyber Peace Foundation. This event at Delhi Police Headquarters included participants from institutions like Rashtriya Raksha University, DRDO, MeiTY, National Forensic Science University, as well as organizations such as Startup India, Uber India, and CyberPeace Foundation.

The goal of the Hackathon is to create effective solutions to problems such as dealing with fake news, safeguarding women's online security, and enhancing social media surveillance. Vivek Gogia emphasised the importance of cooperation among law enforcement, academia, and industry in tackling digital threats. "He expressed that the solutions needed for the challenges in the digital era are multi-faceted, and the Cyber Challenge is an essential step towards overcoming them."

Registrations for the event are open to participants from all over the country, and can be done through the Delhi Police website. The finalists will be revealed in January 2025, and the grand finale is set to take place on January 15-16 in New Delhi. Prizes and certificates will be given to the winners during an award ceremony on January 17, 2025.
