The police cracked a gruesome murder case within hours of discovering a charred body on Shivaji Road near the IFC Paper Market, Ghazipur. The deceased, later identified as Shilpa Pandey, 32 years was found burnt and stuffed in a partially burnt suitcase. Swift police action led to the arrest of two accused, Amit Tiwari 22 years and Anuj Kumar 20 years and the recovery of a car used in execution of crime.

The chilling case came to light in the early hours of January 26, when a PCR call reported the burnt remains of a woman. A forensic team and police officers from Ghazipur police station quickly reached the spot to initiate an investigation. CCTV footage from the area proved pivotal in identifying the accused and tracing the vehicle used to dispose of the body.

Abhishek Dhania, DCP East, said, "The swift resolution of this case reflects the commitment of our officers. Meticulous review of technical and manual evidence led to the arrests. We are determined to bring the culprits to justice and ensure safety."

According to the police, Amit Tiwari, the victim's cousin, had been living with her in Khoda Colony, Ghaziabad, since November 2024. The victim allegedly forced him to leave his family and threatened to implicate him. This led Amit, with the help of Anuj Kumar, to commit the crime and burn the body to destroy evidence.

Both suspects were apprehended after extensive efforts by four police teams from Ghazipur Police Station, the Anti-Narcotics Squad, the Special Staff, and AATS. Further probe is underway.
