ITPO (Indian Trade Promotion Organization) is going to organize the 43rd India International Trade Fair (IITF) at Pragati Maidan.

The fair that runs from 14 to 27 November has opened today.

The inauguration ceremony will be held at about 11 in the morning at Auditorium Bharat Mandapam.

This annual fair brings business promotional participation both from abroad and all parts of India. The Trade Fair expects about one lakh visitors and attracts a large number of business visitors and the general public as it showcases recent advances in technology and consumer goods.

This generates voluminous vehicular and pedestrian traffic, which in the past has tended to disrupt the normal flow of traffic around Pragati Maidan.

With a view to controlling and regulating the vehicular and the pedestrian traffic in a manner that normal traffic is not disrupted and the visitors to the Trade Fair are provided with easy access to the Trade Fair grounds.

A briefing to check the preparedness of traffic arrangements was held by Ajay Chaudhary, Special Commissioner of Police.

Delhi Traffic Police is all set to make this fair successful and has made the following arrangements to facilitate the visitors and road users in and around the area.

305 Traffic police personnel have been deployed in three shifts to manage the traffic in and out of the venue.

15 cranes, 16 motorcycle patrol and 03 Disaster Management vehicles have been deployed in the vicinity of Pragati Maidan.

Traffic advisory has also been issued for the awareness of daily commuters on Delhi Traffic Police social medial handle.

Designated gates have been earmarked for the entry of Business Visitors, Exhibitors, VVIPs and protocol visitors, media persons and ITPO officials.

Parking lots have also been identified for the smooth parking of visitors.

Sufficient number of directional boards for entry/exit/parkings have been installed.

No parking and tow-away zones have also been declared.

Six traffic help desks have also been set up to guide and to assist the visitors.

Delhi Traffic Police Awareness Stall will also be set up in the trade fair.

A separate Traffic Control Room is established in the Admn. Block building, ITPO for the smooth functioning of the fair.
