Three involved in robbery caught

In a prompt response to a robbery case, the Shastri Park Police team, led by Inspector Manjeet Tomar, arrested one accused and, based on his disclosure, apprehended two more accomplices and recovered the stolen mobile phone within a few hours.

The police team—comprising SI Rocky, HCs Subhash, Shivraj, Rohit, and constable Gyan—was patrolling the area near Machhli Market when they encountered a distressed man. The man, identified as Sunil Kanojia (35), a resident of Tronica City, informed them that three youths had assaulted and robbed him of his mobile phone.

Acting swiftly, the team followed the direction mentioned by the victim and apprehended a suspect after a short chase. The victim identified him as one of the robbers. The accused was identified as Mohammad Irshad (22), a resident of Buland Masjid, Shastri Park.

An FIR was registered and further investigation was initiated under the guidance of Hareshwar V. Swami, DCP/North-East District.

Based on Irshad’s inputs, his two accomplices—Ujjwal (22) and Sonu (22) of Buland Masjid, Shastri Park—were also arrested. During interrogation, the trio confessed to the crime and revealed their involvement in other criminal activities. The stolen mobile phone was recovered from Sonu.

 Further investigation is underway.
