Henchman of Hashim Baba gang arrested

The Special Staff of South-West District has arrested a proclaimed offender, Mohammed Shan alias Sanjay Bhatia (35 years), a known associate and brother-in-law of gangster Hashim Baba. The accused was wanted for a 2007 night burglary registered at Vasant Kunj North police station and had been declared a PO (Proclaimed Offender) in 2018
Shan, a resident of Janta Colony, Welcome, Jafrabad, Delhi, has a criminal history with involvement in at least 16 cases related to theft and the Arms Act across various police stations in Delhi.
According to the police, a special team was formed under the supervision of Inspector Vijay Baliyan and ACP Operations Vijay Kumar to trace and apprehend long-evading proclaimed offenders. Stepping up technical surveillance and field intelligence, the team successfully located and arrested the accused.
“We are committed to tracking down and bringing to justice those evading the law, especially those linked with organized crime. This arrest is a result of sustained efforts and close coordination among our teams,” said Surendra Choudhary, Deputy Commissioner of Police, South-West District.
The accused has been remanded to judicial custody, and further proceedings are underway.
