Gangster of Manjeet Mahal gang caught
In a breakthrough, Crime Branch has arrested a desperate gangster associated with the Manjeet Mahal gang, seizing a cache of illegal arms, including a rare 9mm Beretta pistol, from his possession.
The accused, identified as Dinesh alias Rajesh alias Mogli, a resident of Dariyapur Khurd, was apprehended during a raid conducted by the Western Range-II team based on secret information. Police recovered a sophisticated imported pistol, one CMP, 13 live rounds, and three empty cartridges, potentially averting a major gangwar in the Najafgarh-Dwarka region.
Dinesh has a violent past and was earlier involved in the gruesome 2015 quadruple murder case linked to the rivalry between the Manjeet Mahal and Naveen Khati gangs. He was out on bail after spending seven years in judicial custody.
“Due to swift intelligence development and prompt action by our team, a major violent crime has been prevented. This arrest is a strong message to gangsters attempting to disrupt law and order in the capital,” said Harsh Indora, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Crime Branch.
A fresh case has been registered under the Arms Act, and further investigation is underway.
