Man with a long rap sheet nabbed

A patrolling team apprehended a history-sheeter, Salman alias Nawaz (33 years) with arms, ammunition and a stolen mobile phone on January 21, 2025.

Around 8 in the evening, Head Constable Naveen and Constable Kamlesh, while patrolling on Pusta Road, spotted Salman acting suspiciously. When challenged, he attempted to flee towards Yamuna Khadar but was caught after a brief chase. A desi katta (country made pistol) and two live cartridges were recovered from his possession when frisked. As the interrogation progressed, Salman confessed to having stolen a mobile phone near Nala Road, Aram Park, days earlier, using his sister's scooty. Police recovered the stolen 'Realme' phone and the scooty from his residence.

"Salman, a known criminal from Laxmi Nagar, has 32 cases pending against him, including theft, burglary, snatching, and arms-related offences." Spoke Prashant P.Gautam,DCP Shahdara.
