LG VK Saxena interacts, honours Sr Citizens

Delhi Police organised ‘SAMVAD’ at Bharat Ratna C. Subramaniam auditorium, an interactive event with senior citizens. The event was graced by Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Vinai Kumar Saxena.
The Guv interacted with senior citizens, distributed special IDs with a QR code, which provides information about the bearer, including medical complications and medication. Two senior citizens honoured by VK Saxena were Roshan Lal Gupta and YL Sood. Roshan Lal Gupta is a great example of fitness even at the age of 71, he excelled in athletics in his college days, and he is even pursuing mountain climbing. Colonel Sood served as a veteran in 1965 and 1971 wars, and was a recipient of Vishisht Sewa Medal. After retirement in 1984, he has been focusing on social issues. The Lt. Governor mentioned the Kutumb app, which provides complete assistance and care to all senior citizens.
The programme included cultural activities, with welcome songs by Delhi Police Academy trainees and performances by ACP Rajendra Kalkal and SI Manish Madhukar. ACP Manoj from IFSO educated seniors on cybercrime. Commissioner of Police, Sanjay Arora, urged senior citizens to stay in touch with their beat constables for emergencies. Notable attendees included 400 senior citizens and 150 police personnel from all districts of Delhi and senior officers of Delhi Police, playing a key role in organizing this event, aimed at enhancing senior citizens’ safety and well-being.
