Associate of Hashim Baba Gang arrested after exchange of fire

An associate of Hashim Baba and Rashid Cablewala  gang was arrested, wanted for a double murder case. The man nabbed was identified as Wasim 35 years. The Trans Yamuna Range of Special Cell was relentlessly working to nab members operating near the Yamuna area. In this hunt, a team of Special Cell/TYR, led by Inspector Sunil Teotia, under the supervision of Kailash Bisht, ACP/TYR with Akhil Chaudhary, has arrested an active member of Hashim Baba/Rashid Cablewala.

After a long hunt, SI Akhil Chaudhary received secret information about an active member of Hashim Baba/ Rashid Cablewala gang who would come in the jurisdiction of PS Jyoti Nagar with weapon. Accordingly,the police laid a trap near the said location. The cops signalled Wasim to stop, he  opened fire on the team instead, a bullet fired hit Chaudhary’s bulletproof jacket. In exchange, the police had to retaliate resulting in injuring both of his legs, he was rushed to the hospital.

The police recovered one sophisticated pistol with 4 live rounds and one spent cartridge and a stolen bike.

During interrogation, Wasim revealed his role as a coordinator between Rashid Cablewala and Anil alias Sonu Matka(killed in a police encounter a day before), facilitating the double murder at Farsh Bazar. Wasim’s criminal record included involvement in cases of theft, attempt to murder, and assault, and he had connections to prominent gangsters in the Trans-Yamuna area.
