Gangster associated with Manoj Morkheri and Vikas Lagarpuria gang nabbed
In a major breakthrough against organized crime, the Special Cell of Delhi Police has arrested Dheerpal alias Deepak, a key member of the Manoj Morkheri and Vikas Lagarpuria gang. The 37-year-old, wanted for multiple cases of murder, dacoity, and kidnapping, was nabbed from Chandousi, Uttar Pradesh, following a three-month-long operation.
Dheerpal, who had been declared a PO (Proclaimed Offender) in five heinous cases, had been on the run since October 2023 after jumping interim bail granted for his mother’s treatment. Instead of surrendering, he resumed gang activities, attempting to revive and reorganize his criminal network.
The Special Cell’s dedicated team, led by Inspectors Rahul Kumar and Vineet Kumar Tewatia, tracked Dheerpal’s movements across Rajasthan, Haryana, and Outer Delhi. He was finally traced to Chandousi, Uttar Pradesh, where he was apprehended. Following his arrest, police recovered an illegal pistol and live cartridges from his rented flat in Najafgarh, Delhi.
Dheerpal has a long history of violent crimes, with 25 criminal cases registered against him, including involvement in multiple murders and kidnappings for ransom. He was first arrested in 2012 and remained in jail until 2016. After being granted bail, he continued criminal activities and was rearrested in 2017. Following another bail in 2023, he absconded yet again.
His arrest is regarded as a significant disruption to inter-gang rivalries in Delhi-NCR, and further investigations are underway.
