In an inspiring event titled "Ek Shaam Matdataon Ke Naam", organized at Dr. Akhilesh Das Gupta Institute of Professional Studies in North-East Delhi, citizens from various backgrounds came together to raise awareness about voting ahead of the upcoming elections. The programme featured a ramp show and cultural performances to emphasize the significance of voting.

The event was graced by Chief Electoral Officer (CEO)  R. Alice Vaz, Additional CEO Sachin Rana, North-East Delhi District Magistrate Ajay Kumar, and the institute’s director Dr. Niranjan Bhattacharya.

A heartwarming moment during the event was when a differently-abled voter took a selfie with CEO R. Alice Vaz. Applauding the initiative, the CEO remarked that such programmes play a vital role in inspiring voters and increasing voter turnout.

The famed comedian Rajiv Malhotra enthralled the audience by his wit and humor, stressed the significance of voting, while singer Sanjana Bhatt enchanted the audience with her soulful songs, reinforcing the message of electoral participation. Social activist Sanjana Jon also spoke about the duty of every citizen to exercise their rights to vote.

Anita Gupta, a 56-year-old differently-abled advocate and social worker battling cancer, who walked the ramp to send a powerful message—voting is a fundamental right for every citizen. Despite her health struggles, she motivated people to participate in the democratic process. Several other differently-abled young women also took part in the ramp walk, urging the general public to step forward and cast their votes.

District Election Officer Ajay Kumar emphasized, "Voting is not just a right; it is a responsibility. Every citizen should take this duty seriously."

The event successfully conveyed the importance of voting and inspired many to actively participate in the upcoming elections.
