Ali's ton steers easy win for Sunrisers

An unbeaten 150 by Mohammad Ali and a quickfire 54 by Ravi Dutt, combined with Rajbir Singh and Sanjay Tomar’s lethal bowling spell, helped Sunrise Cricket Club (Babarpur) beat  V-11 Cricket Club (Shahdara) by a commanding 8-wicket margin at Chaudhary Raghubir Singh Cricket Stadium.

Sunrise Cricket Club’s captain opted to bowl first having won the toss. V-11 Cricket Club got off to a promising start, but early setbacks hampered their momentum.

Amit Jain played a solid knock of 45 off 38 balls.

Anurag (Chinu) contributed 48 off 42 balls, the middle and tailenders contributed meagre to the total to reach 233/9 in 25 overs.

Sunrise Cricket Club’s bowlers excelled, with captain Rajbir Singh and Sanjay Tomar claiming 3 wickets each, Anuj Tomar taking 2, and Manoj Singh Jodan picking up 1.

Chasing the mammoth total of 234 runs, Sunrise Cricket Club started spewing fire on the track with a match-winning partnership between Mohammad Ali and Ravi Dutt. Ali’s breathtaking 150 off just 57 balls* (4x14, 6x12) and Ravi Dutt’s unbeaten 54 off 25 (4x7, 6x2) did the maximum damage and sealed the chase in just 17.4 overs.

V-11’s bowlers Parvinder and Gagandeep Singh took one wicket each but failed to stop the onslaught.

Mohammad Ali and Ravi Dutt were jointly awarded the Man of the Match title.
