The Bhoomi Poojan ceremony for Khel Mahakumbh: Samvad Sangam was held at Sangam Kshetra, Prayagraj, marking the launch of preparations for India’s first-ever sports conclave. The week-long event, scheduled from 5th to 12th February 2025, aims to revolutionize the nation’s sports landscape by uniting policymakers, athletes, corporates, and thought leaders.

The ceremony witnessed the presence of Girish Chandra Yadav, Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Youth Welfare and Sports, Uttar Pradesh, alongside Kreeda Bharati leaders and other dignitaries. Shri Yadav hailed the initiative as a milestone for empowering athletes and promoting indigenous sports under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s leadership.

Organized by Kreeda Bharati and TYC Communication, the conclave will blend panel discussions with live competitions, focusing at grassroots development and India’s Olympic ambitions. Events will include Mallakhamb, Kushti, Archery, Kabaddi, and traditional games like Gilli-Danda and Tug-of-War, with participation from 28 states and 8 Union Territories.

The event will also honour 100 unsung heroes of Indian sports and feature partners like Amul, Doordarshan, and CIO Association. Promising to be a game-changer for Indian sports, Khel Mahakumbh aims to unlock the nation’s potential as a global sporting powerhouse.
