Crowded places recced and targeted
The district police are cracking down on crime syndicates operating in an organised manner.
Yet another breakthrough where the police apprehended three female members of the notorious “Kadiya Gang,” involved in a series of thefts, including a recent case targeting a foreign national. The arrests were made by a team from the Mehrauli Police Station in South Delhi.
The MO employed by the gang was that they chose the crowded markets, weddings and events where footfall was thick and heavy. They used tactics to steal valuables from their chosen victims. The women, hailing from Gulkheri village in Kadiya, District Rajgarh, Madhya Pradesh, travelled to metro cities to execute their crimes.
No sooner did a foreign national report the theft of her wallet while doing the shopping in Chhatarpur than the police swung into action. The wallet contained $350 (approximately ₹8,000), credit cards, and essential documents, including a visa photocopy. The suspects were traced to the Chhatarpur area using auto-rickshaw travel records and local informants. On January 15, a raid was conducted at 100 Foota Road Phool Mandi, Chhatarpur, leading to the arrest of the trio.
