Tinku Tomar’s unbeaten century of 119 runs and Neeraj Sharma’s explosive innings of 95 runs helped Sunrise Cricket Club defeat Mehra Industries Cooperate Cricket Club by 8 wickets, and levelled the series by 1-1.
The match of Late Sarpanch Shri Gurdayal Singh Chauhan Memorial Trophy 2024 was played at Chaudhary Raghubar Singh Cricket Stadium, Khadkhadi, Loni. The match was played between Sunrise Cricket Club, Babarpur and Mehra Industries Cooperate Cricket Club, Shahdara. The series was organised by Sunrise Cricket Club player Anuj Chauhan.
The Sunrise Cricket Club captain Rajbir Singh Panwar won the toss and decided to bowl first. Batting first, Mehra Industries Corporate Cricket Club scored 267/02 in 25 overs. Yash Jethi scored 31 runs in 26 balls and was caught out on the first ball of the 9th over at the score of 80 runs, becoming the first wicket. Chasing the massive target of 268 runs, Sunrise Cricket Club's batsmen got off to an aggressive start but couldn't maintain the momentum. Neeraj Sharma scored an explosive 95 runs in 44 balls. Tinku Tomar remained unbeaten with 119 runs in 79 balls.
Sunrise Cricket Club made 271/02 in 23.3 overs, winning the match by 8 wickets. Tinku Tomar was adjudged Man of the Match. Neeraj Sharma was awarded Batsman of the Match.
