Exorbitant price for abysmally poor quality food

The fair is opening for the general public today with many new technologies and for food lovers numerous delicacies of different states across the country. Food stalls are raking in the moolah by charging an exorbitant price even for a small bite.

A cuppa coffee or tea costs a bomb.

Anything just double and triple the price burns a hole in visitors' pockets.

Besides, questions were raised on purity and quality of food, served to visitors. According to the Food Safety and Standard Act, no measures are being taken while preparing food. Those who are working or serving food without gloves, no mask, no cap or aprons have thrown caution to the wind. Food is not kept covered despite the fact that Delhi is badly struggling with the poorest air quality and severe pollution. There is no check on dogs moving about the food court where food is being served.

The Act meant for this is not being followed which in case of failure may penalise the violater with a heavy fine and imprisonment.

Let alone the prices of food items rocketing up, even hygiene norms are being flouted with impunity by the food vendors at the fair.
