Snatcher arrested with stolen mobile phone

The police arrested a 25-year-old snatcher, Shahnawaz alias Nazim, for stealing a mobile phone near Laxmi Nagar bus stand. The stolen Samsung M-33 mobile was also recovered from his possession.
The complainant Vinayak Srivastava was using his phone when the accused snatched it and fled towards the underpass. An e-FIR was registered at PS Shakarpur, and a special police team, under the supervision of Nithya Radhakrishnan, ACP subdivision Preet Vihar and Kamal Kishore SHO Shakarpur, was formed to track the culprit.
The arrest was made with the help of CCTV analysis, technical surveillance, and coordinated field inquiries. The accused was traced to Ghaziabad and confessed to selling the stolen mobile for ₹1500 to a man, Wasim in Sundar Nagri.
Shahnawaz, a labourer with a history of five prior offences, has been taken into custody, and further investigation is underway.
